Mayan (284) vs Inca (291)

Another Thursday and another excellent day for gaming at Entoyment. Paul had been itching to bring one of his Meso-American armies to fight my Mayans, so with some measure of trepidation I agreed to face his Incas. Firstly, another shot of the Mayan's under Cadmaela, with their newly camp in the background.

I was invited to defend in the Plains. This time the Human Command was on the right, with the two divine commands in the centre and left.

The Incas started to refuse their right and with the prescience of fighting Paul before I knew the battle lines were going to conduct left wheels pivoting on their right.

It now looks like there will be a battle in the fields o the Mayan right while the two main bodies square off against each other. Although Cadmaela may be divine she certainly cannot help the command rolls, and as such it took some time to shake her line out into good order and military discipline.

Slings and arrows from skirmishers are upsetting the main line, while on the Mayan right the honours are about even in the first round of combat.

The initial contact of the main line of battle has very much favoured the Mayans. While on the right the battle is also going in favour of the Mayans despite the probable imminent loss of the right-wing commander.

The loss of the mortal commander was of small beer compared to the destruction wrought by the Divine against the Inca main line of battle!

Outcome

Another Mayan win in which they lost 21 of their 27 cohesion points. Heady territory, I do not think any of my armies have ever won 3 battles on the trot before!

Lessons Learnt

Once again poor command throws limited the Mayan ability to manoeuvre the large commands adequately.

The loss of the commander of the right wing was unfortunate, I deployed him in a rather exposed position.
